FYI: I've been using the mentioned mirror for the last few days - very fast and stable.
Sorry for the late response. Looks like the timestamp is off by a day. Wed, 20 Oct 2004 08:07:33 +0000 Get that working and I'll add you into rotation. Thanks! -Jeffrey
There was a slight time issue on the server, but rsync updates with --times param. As far as I se it, the datafiles has the correct date, but some directories hasn't. I use distro.ibiblio.org for updates.
Jeffrey, which timestamp?
If you're talking about http://mirror.uni-c.dk/gentoo/distfiles/timestamp.x it looks ok to me.
I check timestamp.chk, which looks fine with me. I will check later in the day, and if the mirror looks good, will add it to the mirror listing around dinner time EDT tonight. -Jeffrey
Hmmm... the mentioned timestamp.chk is now a day behind again. Rasmus, at what time of day is the mirror synced?
It updates 0:00,6:00.12:00.18:00 GTM+1 Should I change this or select a different time?
Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added your mirror to our list at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml under 'distfiles only mirror.' Please start synching from masterdistfiles.gentoo.org as the email I have sent to you instructs. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors-subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send out notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! For Infrastructure, Jeffrey
I've started updating to the server which you provided, and it seems to run fine. I'll keep som debug output for a few days just to make sure it works as expected. Further I'll look into upgrading the mirror to a full mirror, but I've got some issues with diskupgrades. More on the subject when it's ready. However I can't provide you with an rsync mirror. Cheers, rhb
Mirror is now converted to a full mirror, currently it's syncing. A minor issue still stands, the webser does not currently build index lists of files. I'll have that fixed within the next day or two.
Right. Server is now fully synced, and indexes are ready. Due to problems with other mirrors fetch applications the mirror now runs apache.
The 2004.3 release is not available from the UNI-C mirror? All the 2004.3 directories are empty... Oh, and http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml lists UNI-C twice under Partial Gentoo Linux Mirrors - instead of once under Full Gentoo Linux Download Mirrors.
Ok, talked to Rasmus - the mirroring probs are now gone. All that remains is to delete the double entries and move the mirror to the list of full mirrors.
jforman, any progress on this?
Without further adeiu, I have removed you from the partial gentoo mirrors and added you to the full Gentoo mirrors. Thanks for helping out Gentoo.
