I was trying to emerge gaim, i synced the portage and then emerge gaim and it got the other deps and then it got to getting enchant on the new portage build, and it gave a error, here is the error:
!!! ERROR: app-text/enchant-1.1.3 failed.
!!! Function gnome2_src_compile, Line 40, Exitcode 2
!!! compile failure

but when i emerged enchant from the grp cd, it installed fine, so i think there is a bug in the ebuild on the portage servers.

can you please paste the _ACTUAL_ compile failure.  What you have pasted provides us with no info at all.  And you completely neglected to paste the output of `emerge info`.

Never mind now, for some odd reason the emerge'ing of enchant works now. kinda odd but ok
