Description David Priebel 2004-10-09 17:59:20 UTC
After installing mm-sources-2.6.9-rc3-r3, binary packages like blackdown-sdk and mozilla-firefox-bin crash when run. Blackdown-sdk crashes with a long error message report (primary complaint is libpthread) and Firefox just reports a segmentation fault. I use gcc3.4.2 and libstdc++-v3 for running binaries that were linked against a pre gcc3.4 and the packages crashing are pre 3.4 compiled. I installed mm-sources-2.6.8.1-r4 and everything works.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Install mm-sources-2.6.9-rc3-r3
2. Run java at a terminal
3.

Actual Results:
Long error message report is provided and the terminal is useless (no more
command prompt)

Expected Results:
Something with the kernel is improperly assigning memory to programs compiled
using gcc3.3.* thus causing them to segmentation fault (just a guess)

sorry - already fixed the problem

environment is gcc3.4.2, mm-sources-2.6.9-rc3-r3, libstdc++-v3-3.3.4, and binary
package such at mozilla-firefox-bin or blackdown-jdk. Profile is gcc34-x86-2004.2

We don't support mm-sources, sorry. But you may want to search the kernel mailing list, I think I read something about this issue.
