I run amd64 stable, and I added a package.keywords line for xpdf. xpdf version 3 built and ran fine, and is *much* more up-to-date, correctly displaying recent pdfs. Maybe it could be marked stable on amd64? Thanks! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
hi erik: I run a similar system here, and agree that xpdf 3.0 is much preferable. could you try something please? do an xpdf -z 150 somefile.pdf on my system, beyond some reasonable magnification, xpdf decides to grab a huge amount of memory (1GB for me), then aborts because it runs out of memory. if you have more than 1GB swap and reg memory, then just see if you suddenly get huge thrashing. the critical z number for me is 134. anything below works great, anything above gobbles memory until it dies. 3.00-r2 is now stable on x86
Fixed by Dylan Carlson <absinthe@gentoo.org> about a week ago. Thanks.
