Description Benjamin Judas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-07 13:53:11 UTC
I set up Nagios 1.2 and it works mostly fantastic. It is set up to use the mysql-storage-method.

The problem is, that it doesn't show any icons (hostextinfo) no matter where I place the definitions: mysql, template, config-file -- no icons, never.

The functionality of nagios is not decreased in any way, but it can be kinda annoying if you only see the default question-mark instead of a meaningful icon.

i got icons working with mine..

i built nagios with mysql support, so the only place it would accept hostextinfo was in mysql. i put the icons i made into /usr/nagios/share/images/logos and they work like a charm. In mysql I don't enter any path information, just the name of the jpg.

Wouldn't a better option be to set suid and sgid bits on the rw directory during installation? This way, the command file would be created with the right owners by default.

chown nagios:apache /var/nagios/rw
chmod ug+s /var/nagios/rw

If net-analyzer/nagios-imagepack contains the icons than this is a configuration problem...
