blackdown-jre-1.4.2_rc1-r2 with enabled mozilla USE flag makes vlc emerge mozilla Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add mozilla USE flag to make.conf so you have java support in mozilla-firefox 2. emerge vlc and it wants to emerge mozilla 3. Actual Results: mozilla got installed and i don't wanted it to be installed by blackdown-jre. there should be different use flags for the vlc mozilla integration and the java support for browsers in blackdown-jre Expected Results: mozilla should not be emerged by any program if i have mozilla in my blackdown-jre USE flags. perhaps the flag could be renamed to java-plugin or something similiar.
The mozilla USE flag is globally used to enable Mozilla support, and having it as a USE flag to blackdown-jre is the correct solution. Your problem can easily be solved by editing your /etc/portage/package.use, as is documented in the friendly Gentoo Handbook.
