Description Kim N. Jensen 2004-10-06 22:40:53 UTC
If one wishes to install kmail (kdepim), emerge will not say/include kdenetwork.
But without that, kmail will not be able to send/recieve mails.
Trying to recieve will report a "unknown protocol pop" error
Trying to send will not do anything.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge kdepim
2. open and configure kmail
3. try to send/recieve mails

Actual Results:
Trying to recieve will report a "unknown protocol pop" error
Trying to send will not do anything.

Expected Results:
It should have send/recieved mails

If you install kdenetwork then it works.
I guess that kdepim should depend on kdenetwork
Comment 1 Gregorio Guidi (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-07 02:19:19 UTC
The pop protocol is in kdebase. Is it possible that you installed
kdebase as a dependency when you installed kdenetwork?

In that case, the bug is valid but should read
"kdepim will not work without kdebase"
Comment 2 Kim N. Jensen 2004-10-07 04:07:45 UTC
You are right kdenetwork depends on kdebase.
I'll change the error-text.

fixed in 3.3.1
