In the past, such problems were sometimes caused by llvm snafu. Can you set GALLIVM_DEBUG="nopt" and try again?
Created attachment 555912 [details] patch Try this.
(In reply to Matt Turner from comment #4) > Created attachment 555912 [details] > patch > > Try this. Applied on top of 18.2.8 still fails with: 38/42 mesa / lp_test_arit FAIL 1.41 s (exit status 1) --- command --- /tmp/portage/media-libs/mesa-18.2.8/work/mesa-18.2.8-.arm64/src/gallium/drivers/llvmpipe/lp_test_arit --- stdout --- round.v1(-0.5): ref = -0, out = -1, precision = -inf bits, FAIL round.v1(0.5): ref = 0, out = 1, precision = -inf bits, FAIL round.v4(-0.5): ref = -0, out = -1, precision = -inf bits, FAIL round.v4(0.5): ref = 0, out = 1, precision = -inf bits, FAIL -------
Failure fixed. Patches sent upstream.
Patches are now upstream: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/compare/1f6b92b47652e7f48f03ef6a4228a19537022d23...70a7ece035785978167fe0019b6ff603415b1f3b I think it's borderline whether they should be backported to 18.3.x. Not sure. They'll be in 19.0.0 regardless.
Did I understand that right that very likely this also helps with tiled rendering performance on top of Aarch64 for freedreno and the likes? Regarding backporting - I would prefer if the next stable target wouldn't fail tests, but I can try my best to ignore this particular test failure for one more stable cycle.

That's what I thought, but I think I was wrong after looking at the code again. > Regarding backporting - I would prefer if the next stable target wouldn't > fail tests, but I can try my best to ignore this particular test failure for > one more stable cycle. I know it'll be a burden...
Should be fixed in the 19.0.0 rcs. Not planning to do anything else here.
