>=gentoo-sources-4.14.x cause bind/unbind uevents on hardware with BCM2046B1 mini-card. Reproducible: Always Actual Results: CPU is pegged at 100% with the kernel looping bind and unbind of the USB mini-card. Would it be possible to back port the patch provided in the above referenced URL, to revert the bind/unbind kernel commit entries? On the 4.14.x releases the lines requiring removal are different to what is shown in the URL.
Is this still an issue? Some workarounds are documented here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1028883/ubuntu-18-04-systemd-udevd-uses-high-cpu-conflict-with-wifi

I will try these workarounds/fixes at the next kernel release and see if they work - thanks for sharing. TBH this is now quite an old system and with Intel throwing it to the kerb with no further microcode updates, I don't know if there is enough of a user base (in any distro) to merit fixing it.
Hi, I just tried gentoo-sources-5.4.28 and the problematic code has now been fixed. WiFi works fine again. -- Regards, Mick
