I have contacted the author of this software with some annotations and I'll be
adding this to Portage just as I have his reply.

It's really nice to notice the interest in this kind of software, anyway... :)

Use PORTDIR_OVERLAY='/your/local/portage/tree' in your make.conf so you don't
have to wait ;)

Keep having to initialize the view for the 1st time (change to text & back to
xml to get proper results)

I'll better wait for a new release which fixes the problems on the latest
available version (0.0.5).

Please note that we have mlview now on Portage too, which is not quite the same
thing I know, but is very similar in purpose. :)
