Confirmed. Will talk to upstream to get a new package for calendar. Thanks for checking this. I will double check the other packages before pushing ebuilds for them to avoid this.
On request upstream provided a proper tar-ball packaged as version 1.42. So the app-xemacs/calendar-1.42.ebuild has now replaced the corrupted 1.41. This resolves the issue.
