after emerging opera, I ran revdep-rebuild. Checking dynamic linking consistency... broken /opt/opera/lib/opera/plugins/operamotifwrapper-1 (requires libXm.so.1) broken /opt/opera/lib/opera/plugins/operamotifwrapper-3 (requires libXm.so.3) done. The first library is provided by lesstif (thanks rpmfind.net ! ) which was not installed on my system. After I installed lesstif and reran revdep-rebuild, I only got a complaint for libXm.so.3 , which rpmfind.net told me is provided by openmotif-2.2.2 . To get openmotif-2.2.2 (for which no ebuild exists in portage, you have to go to http://ftp.motifzone.net/om2.2.2/src/openMotif-2.2.2.tar.gz and now's about the time when I get a whiff of putrefaction in Scandinavia. Bug #46927 (WONTFIX) sez that no ebuild for openmotif-2.2.2. will be forthcoming. This refers to Bug #29388 which is over 1 year old. I guess there's nothing much the opera ebuild maintainer can do but add this bug to the list of bugs that Bug #29388 blocks. Apart from add a dep for lesstif, of course. *sigh*
they are not necessary, operamotifwrapper-2 works with libXm.so.2, the others are skipped
