You should post some more lines of output, at least from the g++ command that caused the error.

Simone, I have attached the install-log, because I don't know exactly what
caused this.
Comment 3 Jörg Herbert 2004-10-03 08:45:44 UTC
What I forgot to mention: I am using x11-base/xorg-x11 6.7.0-r2

g++ had an internal error and it was killed.
You can try to emerge kdegraphics again and look if it crashes again and in the same point. If this happens that problably it's a problem with your version of gcc.

If it works well or it report an error in a different point, that probably you have some hardware problems, like bad memory, overheating etc...
Comment 6 Jörg Herbert 2004-10-07 13:48:35 UTC
Hi Simone,

sorry for my delay in answering. KDE-Graphics compiled now with no errors. I'm suspecting gcc.

How do I get rid of this message:
configure: WARNING: If you wanted to set the --build type, don't use --host.
If a cross compiler is detected then cross compile mode will be used.

I want to compile for x86 and no other platforms.

Jörg, the warning is not a problem, but that g++ failed with an internal error and the next time doesn't, is an indication for a unstable box. Please check your box. emerge `emerge memtest86+`
