hnb (a console tool for organizing things) does not display special chars like umlauts üöä correctly, when run in an X terminal. This works correctly on the console. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge and start hnb 2. enter an u diaeresis ü or some other special char Actual Results: the offending character is ignored Expected Results: the character should be shown This happens in all of the following X terminals: xterm, aterm, rxvt and gnome-terminal. Since hnb broke after an update not related to hnb itself it is likely that the error really resides in ncurses or in the interaction between the two: ldd for hnb: linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000) libncursesw.so.5 => /lib/libncursesw.so.5 (0x40027000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4006e000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

old antarus@kyoto ~/code/pkgcore/bin $ time ./pquery --revdep=app-text/hnb -v antarus@kyoto ~/code/pkgcore/bin $ No revdeps.
Alec needs to follow his own friggin guidelines; adding maintainer-needed to cc.
No errors with version 1.9.18 and I'm still using this program, even if it's some days old. So I think it should stand in the portage.
