Bug 661362 – net-misc/ntpsec logrotate config processes incorrect log file

net-misc/ntpsec installs the upstream provided logrotate config file 'logrotate-config.ntpd'. The logrotate config processes '/var/log/ntp/ntpd.log', but the default ntpsec log file is '/var/log/ntpd.log'.

Please change the logrotate config to process the correct file so that log rotation works for a default installation.

Also, the logrotate config has an excessively large rotate directive (rotate 9999). A value of 3 is a good default when rotating monthly.

patch for log rotation

changes the lof rotated to the one that is actually there and reduces the overly large number of backups to a mere six.

will be fixed in the next release.

There is a new release 1.1.2 out today; it addresses the issue.

Installed net-misc/ntpsec-1.1.2. I can confirm that the logrotate file has been fixed.
