The command "top -b" segfaults.  Verified by at least four users on the forums,
thread 12059.  This system using GCC 3.1, glibc 2.2.5-r5 on a first-generation
Athlon, compiled with -march=athlon -mmmx -m3dnow -O3.

is there any common kernel version that causes this or is accross all kernel
versions?

new versions available, try them reopen if needed.
