Hi, I think its best to name it without "-bin", if there is no source available. Like skype does it that way. at least there shoudl be some merge if I do emerge azureus and not just emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "azureus". Also have a look at sun-jre-bin and sun-jdk. Both named differently and both binary .. Imo the best solution would be to name it with its original name if there is no conflict with a source pkg. Stefan
There is source code available: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/azureus/Azureus_2.1.0.4_source.zip?download Compiling java from source isn't very useful for optimizations. Unless someone makes this compile from source renaming is in place as many people try emerge azureus and wonder why nothing happens.
I'd like to keep it how it is until someone could make an ebuild that does build azureus from source. Unfortunately, http://www.haxwell.org/HOWTO_Run_Azureus_In_Eclipse.html are the only documents I could find on using the azureus source code. If someone could make an ebuild, it would be greatly appreciated.
i'm not closing the bug but please check 66141. I'm creating the source ebuild as we speak greetings
