Description matthias bernges 2004-10-02 00:15:36 UTC
Hello,

Whe changing PORTDIR to /somewhere in /etc/make.conf the profiles are still uses from /usr/portage/profiles.
This happens because /etc/make.profile is a link to /usr/portage/profiles/xyz
But when I chane PORTDIR I maybe don't have any /usr/portage and there
So I think there should to thinks be enhanced:
- Adding a warning when PORTDIR was changed and /etc/make.profile still links to /usr/portage/profiles
- Adding an error when /etc/make.profile links to a non-existent directory.

It even would be nice to add a PROFILES variable in /etc/make.conf which would ovride the dir/link /etc/make.profile scince you then hava a central configuration.

if make.profile doesnt exist it already displays an error
