Ever since I moved to firefox 1.0_pre I've been getting these g.xulUT errors in chrome://global/content/commonDialog.xul. I've looked through other bugs that I thought would fix this to no result so far. I gathered the problem was with using the old chrome.rdf or compreg.dat which was suppose to be fixed with mozilla-launcher-1.21. Just to check I went ahead and move them out myself again and I still am having these errors. Sites that cause a particular problem are the phpmyadmin site and the cups web interface, both which I am using off the newest ~86 gentoo packages. Since the errors still persist, I think I must be having another problem here from what was previously reproted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to many different websites with firefox. 2. 3. Actual Results: With many sites I just get one error, which once closed doesn't cause a problem anymore. With the cups interface specifically I get a persistant error requiring me to kill firefox. Expected Results: Worked.... Fixed in mozilla-launcher-1.20: 27 Sep 2004; Aron Griffis <agriffis@gentoo.org> +mozilla-launcher-1.20.ebuild: Update to 1.20, marked ~arch, to remove compreg.dat on first run of a new version #63999 Later versions of mozilla-launcher also remove other problematic files.
Sorry, my previous comment ignored that you had already tried deleting compreg.dat and chrome.rdf. I suspect the problem was another cache file in your profile. Recent versions of mozilla-launcher remove additional known-problematic files when firefox is updated, but if that doesn't work, there's little I can do. Best I can suggest is cleaning your profile completely, which will almost undoubtedly solve the problem: quit firefox mv .mozilla/firefox .mozilla/firefox-$(date +%Y%m%d) firefox
