After a emerge --sync system shown news for upgrade to dev-libs/mpfr-4, but this package is yet masked.

I have revised the wording to be a bit more clear about the fact that this only affects people upgrading to mpfr-4*. Unfortunately, we have to show this news item before someone upgrades. There is really no good trigger to show a news item only for people that are about to install mpfr-4*...

How do you intend to re-trigger it when this goes stable?  Also, why not put it on the list for review as required by GLEP 42?

You're absolutely right. I have removed the news item immediately. With that everything is QA conformant.
