After upgrading my ~AMD64 system to pulseaudio-12.0 the "Digital Stereo (IEC958) Output + Analog Stereo Input" hardware profile disappears. Indeed, all "Digital Stereo" outputs are missing. This breaks sound output for my system which uses the on-board Intel HDA sound card. Downgrading to 11.1 resolves the issue. Reproducible: Always
Please upgrade back, restart daemon and attach the outputs of the following commands: aplay -l pactl list aplay comes from media-sound/alsa-utils package.
A recent bump in the use-flag requirements for kde-plasma/plasma-pa have masked PA 12.0. Once this dependency has been resolved I'll report back with the output of the two commands.
Have been able to reproduce with: media-sound/pulseaudio-11.99.1-r1::gentoo USE="X alsa alsa-plugin asyncns bluetooth caps dbus gdbm glib gnome gtk ipv6 orc qt5 ssl tcpd udev webrtc-aec -doc -equalizer -gsettings -jack -libressl -libsamplerate -lirc -native-headset (-neon) -ofono-headset (-oss) -realtime (-selinux) -sox (-system-wide) -systemd {-test} -zeroconf" ABI_X86="32 (64) (-x32)" Requested outputs attached.

Please try with pulseaudio-12.2 (there should be a plasma-pa revision now that is fine with it). If still a problem, please report this to pulseaudio upstream instead. They will want the same aplay -l and pactl list outputs, and additionally it could be useful to get a debug log for this with both working 11.x and not working 12.2, something like: * Kill background pulseaudio * Run pulseaudio -vv in the foreground for debug log (ensure that's actually used, not some background daemon again) * Save the log for both working and not working versions and attach to upstream report
