Hi! Please find attached smtptools-0.2.3.ebuild.tar.gz containing an entire pre-setup ebuild directory. smtptools is a collection of tools to send or receive mails with the simple mail transfer protocol. Homepage is at http://www.ohse.de/uwe/software/smtptools.html. I frequently use this package to debug MTA issues while patching Qmail or writing mail processing scripts. I suggest net-mail/smtptools. Doesn't depend on much of anything, AFAIK. Jesse
Created attachment 40733 [details] smtptools-0.2.3 ebuild directory tarball This tar.gz can be directly decompressed into /usr/local/portage/net-mail (if you have that dir configured as an overlay) for a complete smtptools ebuild. Thanks!
Jesse, please reattach the contents of the tarball as plain text. We don't need ChangeLog, Manifest or digest files, just the ebuild and whatever auxiliary files are necessary.

Um, be sure to mark the attachment as text/plain next time. It makes it much easier to view directly on bugzilla.

Hm, looks like the ftp server specified in SRC_URI is having some kind of problems. I'll try later.
That FTP server has been having trouble for the last week or so. Maybe longer. I highly recommend putting a copy of the tar.gz on the Gentoo mirrors as soon as you can download a copy.
I'm trying to fetch the tarball daily several times, with no success. Is there any information what's going on available?
No, not really. Are you using wget? Have you tried using a normal FTP client? That's how I got mine the first time. Alternatively, you might be able to rip it from some other distro's repository.
Reassigning to self, so it won't clutter up net-mail bug list. I'll give the ftp server another week or so, since this seems to be an interesting package.
OK. I contacted the author last week and asked him about the FTP server. He replied this morning and expressed interest in fixing the problem, but didn't know what was broken. So I'm in communication with him and will help him with the debug process. I'll update this ticket when if/when he fixes the problem. Thanks!
I just managed to download the tarball from the mentioned ftp server, yay!
After few minor fixes, added to portage. Thanks for the ebuild and for taking care of this.
