Gaim crashes when I move my mouse over a buddy that has been combined (using the right-click Expand menu option. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Gaim. 2. Enable View of Offline Buddies 3. Move mouse over an offline buddy that has been "combined". Actual Results: Gaim crashes Expected Results: The buddy's summary information should have been displayed in the "mouse over" window. Created attachment 40710 [details] Backtrace of Crash Here is the console output captured by running USE=\"debug\" gdb gaim
I'm running Gaim 1.0.0 with the following plugins: Auto-Reconnect 1.0.0 Extended Preferences 0.3 Gaim-Encryption 2.3.1 History 1.0.0 Iconify on Away 1.0.0 Message Notification 1.0.0 Release Notification 1.0.0 System Tray Icon 1.0.0 Text Replacement 1.0.0 Gaim crashes even when these plugins are not loaded.
The USE parameter only affects the 'emerge' for compiling gaim. It does nothing for gdb or running gaim.
I'm using Gaim 1.01 and it still crashes when I attempt to make "Expanded" contacts out of offline buddies.
This is working just fine for me. Is this happening for every buddy or is there a certain protocol and buddy name that might affected?
It does not appear to be specific buddy, but it does appear to be related to the MSN Messenger protocol. Every time I try to move the mouse over the offline MSN buddy when I restart Gaim, it crashes.
I'm going to try to experiment with this to reproduce the exact scenario. I think that what is happening is that I have a non-MSN messenger offline buddy that I "Expand". I then drag an offline MSN buddy to the expanded handle (so they will be grouped). At this point Gaim crashes. If, when Gaim is restarted, I move my mouse over the MSN buddy I tried to add to the expanded buddy, Gaim crashes again. I'll try to verify this, but I'm running out of buddies.
This does not appear to be a problem in version 1.02. I'm not sure which resolution code I should use for this. It appears to have been fixed by/with the Gaim developers.
Okey dokey.
