Readline is one of the various ebuilds that wants to be installed with 'emerge -u world'. However, it depends on bash-2.05b-r2, and Macos's package.provided provides bash-2.05b. Emerging readline with nodeps seems to work just fine. Is there any reason we can't provide for r2 in some fashion?
I think it's okay to provide bash-2.05b-r2 (or even higher). -r2 means bash uses internal readline, and that's what Mac OS X's bash does.
-r2 now in profiles/default-macos/ppc/10.3/package.provided profiles/default-macos/ppc/10.4/package.provided.todo profiles/default-macos-10.{3,4}/package.provided Correct me if i've done something wrong; I think everyone on the list who was going to put in their $.02 already had (via the macos mailing list). This seems to be the consensus.
Closing out bugs that've been resolved for a while now...
