Hi, I've been working on an installer for Gentoo, now the package is stable and I'd like to know if it can be added to the official ISO images: minimal CD and SystemRescueCD. Thanks,
We don't build SystemRescueCD, so you'll have to talk to them. As to add this to the install-cd, we've generally tried to avoid adding anything not absolutely necessary to it. For the admin-cd, I'd like to see some requests before adding it.

Well about the necessity of the software, it may be quite subjective... a lot of people think that we should have an installer, one example could be last AMA, and my codebase is not too big (~600K) and most likely won't add any new dependency to the already existing ISO image (is a pure Python software, designed to depend only on things already available in the liveCD). Another reason is that it is quite hard to test properly the installation process with real people (beginners especially) when the filesystems in the live CD are read-only, thus not letting users install installer manually once they boot the live env. Well and about the requests... here is one at least :)
I'll be the second voice for a request for this feature! It'd be a great way to bring new users into the fold. :)
