Description Hanno Böck gentoo-dev 2018-05-14 09:02:03 UTC
I can't compile ekopath, it complains that it doesn't know my processor:

pathCC ERROR: Unknown Intel processor model 158 (family = 6)
pathCC ERROR: Unknown processor detected. Please explicitly select a processor with -mcpu= to work-around this and report the failure to PathScale at support@pathscale.com or http://support.pathscale.com
pathCC ERROR: Target not specified

My CPU (thinkpad 2018 edition):

vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 158
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1270 v6 @ 3.80GHz

I guess an update to ekopath may fix this (bug #643094), but haven't tried.

I don't think any CPUs were added since the last release packaged in Gentoo (or that there were any changes in code, to say). I'll take a try at bumping it later, though.

I'm sorry to say but there's nothing we can do about it. Upstream needs to allow this CPU, and with upstream going AWOL and all current versions being broken, I'm going to lastrite the package.
