Description Thomas Witzel 2004-09-27 09:50:37 UTC
Sometimes when I check for new mail, kmail will find a new message which will have No Subject and unknown everything else. It will also make a copy of my previously last message in my inbox and put it after the new message, so that after checking the mail my inbox looks like this

last message
new messge
copy of last message

When I then click on the new message, kmail will rapidly eat all memory my computer has (2GB RAM) and freeze the machine to death if I don't kill it fast enough.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. check for new messages (IMAP account)
2. click on the new message (with no subject and unknown headers)
3.

Actual Results:
machine will freeze shortly

Expected Results:
not even shown the false/empty message and certainly not crash

kde-3.3.0

Is this still a problem?
Comment 2 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-11 10:37:12 UTC
Closing. If the problem persists, please file at bugs.kde.org
Comment 3 Martin Tsachev 2005-01-23 17:21:18 UTC
It crashes for me if the message is incomplete (doesn't have the usual headers). No memory usage or copied messages. Kmail 1.7.2

Then it's a separate issue (any reason to link the two?) - file a separate
bugreport with crash traceback.
