Description Tassilo Horn 2004-09-27 07:52:07 UTC
Hi,
If you install mm-sources or ck-sources-2.6.8.1-r7 which have Reiser4 support the ebuild should print something like this:

"If you want Reiser4 support be sure NOT to check 4kb-Stacks. If you check 4kb-Stacks, then Reiser4 support will automatically be disabled."

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Why not make them mutually exclusive using Kconfig?
Comment 2 Tassilo Horn 2004-10-01 09:01:27 UTC
Sorry if you didn't understand me. They _are_ mutally exclusive. But it is not visible to the user. If I check 4kb stack I won't find Reiser4 support and don't know why.

So it would be good to let the ebuild tell this.

No way.

Do you want us to also document the CONFIG_SCSI and CONFIG_USB_STORAGE stuff?
How about the other zillion odd configuration issues that are in the kernel
build process?

No, if you are using these kernels, you are on your own, including setting up
the config.

Oh, and if you are using Reiser4, you _really_ are on your own :)

Good luck.

Ok, ok. I understand. I didn't know that there are more of such undocumented things in these kernel patchsets. So let is as it is now. I can live with that. Regards, Tassilo
