hal-device-manager requires gnome-python to work, which is just silly, since it's in a package that gnome potentially needs to build. New ebuilds for hal and hal-device-manager to follow, with the two split out so things aren't so silly.

Created attachment 40526 [details] hal-device-manager ebuild Here's the hal-device-manager ebuild. Unfortunately, it makes more sense to just use the hal tarball, and use that, as there's no only the few python scripts, but lots of images associated with the tool, etc. (this is different from the approach i discussed with foser previously).
Created attachment 40919 [details] new hal ebuild Okay, per foser's request, i'm installing everything but the object in /usr/bin in the hal ebuild and the new hal-device-manager ebuild to follow just makes the necessary symlink to make hal-device-manager usable.
