Traceproto is a traceroute replacement written in C that allows the user to specify the protocol and port to trace to. It currently supports tcp, udp, and icmp traces. It will have more features in the future.

I suggest this ebuild as net-analyzer/traceproto in the portage tree.

A perl wrapper for TraceProto called HopWatcher will be ready soon.
