Amarok version 1.1 was released Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 40467 [details] diff for new version of Amarok
I have put the new ebuild into my overlay, and created a digest. It compiles fine, and works fine.
Copying the 1.1_beta2 ebuild to 1.1 and changing the taglib dep to 1.3 works for me on ppc. Note that if you don't have taglib-1.3 installed, configure will not fail, but no binaries will be built, so emerge will only install the docs. I've tried this using artsd and gstreamer. Artsd output works quite well by artsd standards, but the gstreamer output causes amarok to suck up all my CPU cycles. 1.0 didn't have this problem. (1.1_beta2 did)
Created attachment 40552 [details] amarok-1.1.ebuild This is the amarok-1.1.ebuild from kde-apps.org, containing the updated dependencies (e.g. taglib-1.3).
pleeeaaaaseeee!!!! ... ASAP ... ;-)
Sami, when an ebuild is just getting a version bump, all you need to do is submit the diff of the two ebuilds. It's not necessary to submit an entire ebuild. Cheers.
it's already in portage in package.mask If you want to use it do the following: echo media-sound/amarok >> /etc/portage/package.unmask
Hm I just unmasked amarok 1.1 and it compiled fine. But when it starts it says that I have to select GStreamer output plugin. And when I try to do that in configuration and then click Apply or OK amarok just closes. The same if I select any other output plugin. Aaron, ok, but the ebuild I posted was not just a copy of the beta2, but actually contained dependency changes and other stuff. Yeah, I could have made a diff, but does it really matter. Seems that the ebuild added to portage does not contain those changes (made by amaroK devs), though.
