Description Peter Colijn 2004-09-26 10:53:44 UTC
When docbook and jadetex are installed in ~x86, bochs-2.1.1 fails to build its docs (which are in docbook), and the build fails. Adding --disable-docbook to the configuration makes the build succeed.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install docbook, jadetex and docbook-sgml-utils on ~x86.
2. Try to emerge bochs-2.1.1

Actual Results:
The build fails due to an error in the docbook stuff.

Expected Results:
The build should have suceeded and installed normally.

Portage 2.0.51_rc1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r0, 2.6.8 i686)

Also, shouldn't the docbook stuff only be installed based on a USE flag. I have
tetex in my USE, but the ebuild doesn't check that flag (or any other flag) to
decide whether to build the docbook stuff or not.

Emerge output of jade failure.

Sorry it took a while to get back to you. Here are the exact error messages, as
they appear from emerge.
Comment 3 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2004-10-01 03:08:37 UTC
You have to refresh your docbooks collection. Delete them and reemerge them. That should fix your issue.
Comment 4 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2004-10-21 00:39:51 UTC
any news?
Comment 5 Peter Colijn 2004-10-21 15:03:42 UTC
Sorry.. I've been busy with school. I have about 10 docbook-related packages on my system. Do I need to re-emerge them all.
Comment 6 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2004-10-21 22:38:58 UTC
sadly that could be a solution
Comment 7 Peter Colijn 2004-10-21 22:53:12 UTC
Oh I remember now; not only do I have tons of docbook packages, I also have several versions of some of them installed, at which point I figured unmerging all of them and remerging them would be a big pain, since some of the old versions aren't even in portage any more.

So if you could be a bit more specific, that'd be great. And again, I'm sorry for the delay getting back to you.
Comment 8 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2004-10-22 03:04:12 UTC
Won't be a big pain, and when I said everything related I said that.
I don't have a quicker way to rebuild your catalog nor I know one, usually issuing that cure one time is enough forever (the problem was related to a old dtd set I think)

Reopen if it is still an issue
