Using the current version www-client/google-chrome-66.0.3359.117 for just youtubing brings me system crashes daily. Mostly happening from exausting memory. ... so I just do a simple bump www-client/google-chrome-66.0.3359.139 hoping for the better ...
Thank you for testing a local bump. Have a look at https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Chromium, if you are interested in helping out with more frequent updates.
Maybe I am correctly feeling something is wrong with v117 Debian-unstable announces: --- chromium-browser (66.0.3359.139-1) unstable; urgency=medium * New upstream security release. - CVE-2018-6118: Use after free in Media Cache. Reported by Ned Williamson * Enable jumbo build. * Recommend libgl1-mesa-dri. -- Michael Gilbert <mgilbert@debian.org> Sat, 28 Apr 2018 02:44:15
There is no need to file bugs for google-chrome updates. I run a script to update it at least once a week.
