Hi,
spamd seems to need ~ 30 MB of ram for EVERY child in the new version...
there must be something wrong

what further informations do you need?

This is normal behaviour and actually nothing the Gentoo guys can fix.

You can report this issue upstream via http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org but please check first if there isn't yet a similar bug as this problem is already worked on (where possible).
