Description Alex McDarmont 2004-09-26 02:11:27 UTC
I've been getting infrequent lockups running a Gentoo 2.4 kernel, Xfree 4.30, Nvidia GeForce440mx, Athlon 2600+ and nForce2 chipset. Am using the modules that "emerge nvidia-kernel" builds for video.

A bit of hunting found kdm.log and the crash time is right to the second:

Comment 1 Simone Gotti (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-26 05:22:50 UTC
I don't see anything related to kdm (except that the log is generated by it) Like you'll see the crash is related to the xserver, probably if you try to don't run kdm you'll get the same crash.
So I think that this bug should be reassigned.
Comment 2 Andrew Bevitt 2004-12-12 02:03:13 UTC
Which nvidia-kernel are you using? Can you please try 1.0.6629 if you are not.
Comment 3 Gregorio Guidi (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-23 07:37:40 UTC
reassigning as this is not related to kde...
Comment 4 Andrew Bevitt 2004-12-23 15:28:44 UTC
Reopen this if its still a problem and lets us know how its going...
