When using a kernel generated with genkernel my toshiba 4600 pro hangs up at boot (showing caps lock blinking, kernel panic?), right after loading kernel image. I have tested similar configurations with vanilla sources, and the system works fine, so i concluded the problem is in gentoo-sources kernel. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the latest 2.4.x kernel (with gkernel) 2. Boot it 3. Actual Results: The laptop hangs up, showing caps lock blinking (kernel panic?), i can't see any messages because the image hangs up. Expected Results: Shoul be booting the system, and i should see kernel messages on the screen, and after that init scripts loading.
Hrm, I can't do much unless I can see the kernel panic - could you somehow capture it over a serial cable or net console?
Please reopen with requested info. We're going to need to see the oops.
I will use a serial console to get the output, sory the delay.
