Hello. This is ebuild for hsflinmodem-5.03.03.L3mbsibeta02061800.tar.gz package. I create this ebuild, because of 1)other hsflinmodem ebuild didn't compiled with my kernel 2)this version of hsflinmodem package is more stable on my opinion, then others 5.x.x. 3)In others ebuild for hsflinmode is broken link for geting hsflinmodem package. With regards, Evgeniy.

there is already a newer version in portage
Do you realy read what I wrote? All version of this package is beta, because of stable version is for money. And this version is more stable then others. And It compiled successfully with my kernel (2.4.26-gentoo-r9), but others version didn't compiled at all.
Evgeniy, 5.xx series is no longer mantained by Linuxant. Besides, 5.xx is limited to 14kbps unless you don't pay $15, so what's the point in installing such a driver, when you could do the same with the new one?
Thanks for reply. >Evgeniy, 5.xx series is no longer mantained by Linuxant. Besides, 5.xx is >limited to 14kbps unless you don't pay $15, so what's the point in installing >such a driver, when you could do the same with the new one? 1)The 5.xxbeta(*) is NOT limited for speed, and you DO NOT HAVE TO PAY $15. 2)The 6.xx is limitted for speed and to have full functionality you have to pay $15. 3)But the 5.xxbeta series have almost all functionality that have 6.xx full except such things as fax, playing the modem dialing sound through the Linux audio system and so on, and 5.xxbeta is free for use 4)So the linuxant remove all 5.xxbeta from their site, and so in another hsflinmodem ebuilds links is broken. 5)I suggest my ebuild because of others ebuilds from 5.xx series is not compiled with my standart kernel(I try to find out why, but half of hsflinmodem'code is closed).
well, there is another big issue with this ebuild: it download its tarball from a site different than linuxant's site. no offence, but when it comes to binary packages, I don't trust any site except the main. how do I know you didn't insert malicious code in that driver since I could not compute the original md5sum?

It is logic exercise? You need md5sum of package, where can you get? There is only one trustable for you place where you can get it, it is http://www.linuxant.com/company/. I advise you to send them the follows letter, that you are expert of security in gentoo, and you have a strong suspicion that hsflinmodem-5.03.03.L3mbsibeta02061800.tar.gz contain rootkit. But it is only suspicion and you want spent your time rationally. So can they do three things: find this package in archive, type md5sum hsflinmodem-5.03.03.L3mbsibeta02061800.tar.gz, and send results to you. there is of course another way: I can improve ebuild, and during installation it ouput message like WARNING: this package from NOT trusted site.
won't fix, mainly because of comment #6. a second reason would be it wouldn't feel right.
