When kbear starts, it puts an application called KBearSiteManagerDaemon in System Tray. In KDE-3.3.0 this Application extremely enlarges the System Tray in width. On my system it uses half the width of screen (which is 1152x864 in my case). When quitting KBearSiteManagerDaemon (right click on icon: quit), the System Tray normalizes for about a second, then kbear restarts the application and the bug is back again.
I'm seeing the same here, sounds like a bug in KBear.
Same deal here. After exiting kbear and even removing the system tray, it didn't fix the problem. It did fix itself after a few minutes though.
Same problem here with KBear and Azureus. Using latest stable versions of KDE 3.3, Azureus 2.1.0.4, KBear 2.1.1. System Tray Icons space out greatly.
It's just reported upstream on bugs.kde.org, no resolution yet. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88211
Just figured out how to disable the KBearSiteManagerDaemon Icon. I was looking in the wrong place to get rid of the system tray icon. Instead of looking in Settings => Configure Kbear go to the Site Manager Menu => KBear SiteManager and uncheck the option to display system tray icon for KBear SiteManager Daemon. Still haven't figured out how to fix the enlarged system tray icons when the icon is enabled though.
closing.
