The IMMS plugin for XMMS is no visualization in any way, since it doesn't display anything, except the "Configure"-dialog - at least that's what i'm pretty sure of. It get's installed into/as a visualization plugin. (Current stable version - 1.1) -- Additionally, here it doesn't work at all. When i start playing, which also makes imms itself start working, it segfaults - but that could be because of my local settings (CFLAGS and so on...) - maybe i'll search for the one causing it, and one can do a filter/replace-flags? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge xmms-imms 2a. qpkg -l xmms-imms 2b. cat /usr/portage/media-plugins/xmms-imms/xmms-imms-1.1.ebuild 3. --> Visualization Actual Results: It get's installed in a section of the xmms plugins where it doesn't fit into. Expected Results: Should be placed in "general" section. Talk to upstream then... That's where they intentionally put it. It even mentions so in their ChangeLog...
I see it's intentionally done this way - didn't check the ChangeLog on that i need to mention, my fault. Still i cannot see a reason for that up to know, since it is wrong in my eyes - but also shouldn't be discussed here...
I felt the same way, and even mentioned that to the author to no avail...
