Description Jani Averbach 2004-09-22 18:22:32 UTC
Installing new app-admin/fam-2.7.0-r1 caused that there weren't any more
libfam.so.0 or any libfam.so files.

What were presented were:

lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root    12 Sep 22 13:38 /usr/lib/libfam -> libfam.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root    12 Sep 22 13:38 /usr/lib/libfam.0 -> libfam.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root 28464 Sep 22 13:38 /usr/lib/libfam.0.0.0
-rw-r--r--  1 root root 53694 Sep 22 13:38 /usr/lib/libfam.a
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root   691 Sep 22 13:38 /usr/lib/libfam.la

And of course, KDE couldn't anymore find libfam.so.0 and refused to start.
After I created /usr/lib: libfam.so.0 ->libfam.0.0.0, things seem to work again.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
try emerge fam-2.7.0-r1?

your libtool version ? see bug #41078 & #41013
Comment 2 Jani Averbach 2004-09-23 07:25:00 UTC
libtool --version
ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.5.6 (1.1220.2.95 2004/04/11 05:50:42)
Comment 3 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-23 07:28:58 UTC
afaik that version is still very hard masked for such reasons.
Comment 4 Jani Averbach 2004-09-23 09:05:25 UTC
My Bad, thanks for quick response, and sorry about noice.
(Just one little grubmle: it is only ~arch masked...)
Comment 5 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-23 09:11:37 UTC
