Description Eshin Kunishima 2018-03-10 12:48:11 UTC
Hello,
Will media-gfx/qrencode support USE flag "static-libs"? Is there a reason that the package does not support static-libs?

Is there a good reason why it should have static-libs?

I tried to build my project as static-linked binary, but among the dependent libraries of it, libqrencode is only one provided without static-libs. So I had to install libqrencode manually with --enable-static. I heard that this distribution tend to manage all application and libraries with the package manager. If it's true, it's not strange for qrencode has static-libs flag.

This distribution fringes upon static linking. If you need to do it locally, EXTRA_ECONF is the way to go.
