Description Torsten Alex 2018-03-08 03:11:07 UTC
Please stabilize, been using this version in several installs for 6 months now. Old stable (xl2tpd-1.3.1-r4) is very outdated and contains various bugs fixed in between.

x86 stable
Comment 2 Mikle Kolyada (RETIRED) archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2018-03-14 13:03:22 UTC
amd64 stable
Comment 3 Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2018-08-15 09:49:15 UTC
Why was this closed? ppc64 clearly didn't process it.
Comment 4 Torsten Alex 2018-08-15 13:37:46 UTC
Because the stabilization request was only for amd64 and x86. I have no ppc64 hardware to test on.

You always stabilize on all arches that were stable. Arch teams do the testing on their own hardware.
Comment 6 Torsten Alex 2018-08-15 14:15:50 UTC
Sorry, I thought for stabilization the software needed to be tested extensively on each arch and did not think the respective arch team could accomplish that for all kinds of different applications and scenarios out there. But I guess they only make some basic compile and runtime checks then in case the respective software has proven to be stable on another arch by the maintainer?
Comment 7 Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2018-08-15 15:10:19 UTC
You are expected to tell arch teams what needs to be tested and how. However, if you mark it 'runtime testing required = no', we assume building with FEATURES=test is sufficient.
Comment 8 Torsten Alex 2018-08-15 16:21:40 UTC
Thank you for the information. Since "runtime testing required = no" is selected we can leave everything as it is now and wait for ppc64 to stabilize I assume.

ppc64 stable

Last arch. Closing.
