When I try to open an URL in konqueror (kde 3.3.0) I get the message:

Protocol not supported:
     http

Here are some messages from the xterm window if that might be of any help

And what does that program acctually do?
It has no man page but it solved the problem.

sycoca = SYstem COnfiguration CAche

It just rebuilds the system config.  It's completely undocumented, unfortunately.
