Description Mark R. Pariente 2004-09-20 19:57:03 UTC
Have devhelp-0.9 and mozilla-1.7.3 installed, devhelp worked some time ago, fails to start now with the error:

/usr/bin/devhelp-bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/mozilla/components/libnecko.so: undefined symbol: _Z15ToNewUTF8StringRK9nsAString

re-emerge'ing devhelp did not help either. This is the first time I try to run devhelp after the mozilla update, so I guess that might be the reason.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. run devhelp

Actual Results:
doesn't start

Expected Results:
start and run properly

# emerge --info

could you try to rename the ebuild as devhelp-0.9.1 and rebuild it? maybe it'll run.

i cannot try it because i recently switched to firefox and unmerged mozilla AS.
(i hope that the guys at imendio let devhelp to run also with firefox asap, btw)
Comment 2 Mark R. Pariente 2004-09-27 16:33:31 UTC
devhelp 0.9.1 did build and work fine.

I wonder why is it not in portage yet.
Comment 3 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-20 03:53:22 UTC
devhelp-0.9.3 is in portage now, reopen if this problem still exists.
