If dmake has been emerged previously on the system, openoffice and openoffice-ximian use it instead of the version shipped with the package, and fail with cryptic errors such as "missing include system.mk". If Openoffice listed dmake as a blocker, then the user would get a warning that they should unmerge dmake, emerge openoffice, and remerge dmake. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge dmake 2.emerge openoffice (or openoffice-ximian) 3. Actual Results: The build died with a missing system.mk error Expected Results: complained that dmake was installed, or used the one in openoffice even though it's installed Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Portage 2.0.50-r11 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.3.20040420-r1, 2.4.26-gentoo-r9) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.26-gentoo-r9 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) MP 1500+ distcc 2.13 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [enabled] ccache version 2.2 [enabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r4 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.5-r1 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-mp -O2 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-mp -O2 -pipe" DISTDIR="/home/dang/gentoo/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache distcc sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.osuosl.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j5" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/opt/portage" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/home/dang/gentoo/ebuilds" SYNC="rsync://marvin.nexthop.com/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X acpi4linux alsa apm avi berkdb bitmap-fonts cdr crypt cscope cups dvd dvdr encode esd evo foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gnutls gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile imlib ipv6 java jpeg ldap libg++ libwww mad mikmod motif mozilla mpeg ncurses nls nptl offensive oggvorbis opengl oss pam pcmcia pdflib perl png pnp python qt quicktime readline samba sdl slang spell sse ssl svga tcpd tiff truetype usagi vim-with-x x86 xinerama xml2 xmms xprint xv zlib"
Actually OOo and openoffice-ximian DO block on dmake since quite some time, don't know why you are not getting this, still this bug is invalid
