build log

Since upgrading boost I'm trying to rebuild facter (reverse dependencies). I also tried more recent versions which failed with the same error on build phase.

Is there anything I should try?

I've attached the build log with the error message

HTH

Erik

which version of boost, can you test with facter-3.10.0 or facter-9999?
Comment 2 Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2018-02-14 06:52:25 UTC
You may need to rebuild leatherman first.
Comment 3 Erik 2018-02-14 08:57:01 UTC
Boost version is 1.65.0

I'll try to rebuild leatherman and rebuilding facter once more.
If that doesn't help, I'll try with the latest facter version and report back
Comment 4 Erik 2018-02-14 09:24:00 UTC
OK, rebuilding leatherman did the trick. Facter-3.9.2 just compiled fine, now.
Thanks

Erik
Comment 5 Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2018-02-16 08:22:57 UTC
Reopening this since we can most likely fix this by using subslot dependencies on leatherman and facter. I'm not sure if that will fully fix it since the order in which leatherman and facter are recompiled will matter.

@prometheanfire: any thoughts on this?
Comment 6 Matthew Thode ( prometheanfire ) archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2018-02-16 08:25:06 UTC
ya, I think := on leatherman for facter and := on boost for leatherman would fix it. In that case a change to boost would cascade down into leatherman
Comment 7 Matthew Thode ( prometheanfire ) archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2018-02-16 17:19:06 UTC
ok, done making the slot deps in facter 3.10.0 and 3.9.5 and 9999. Also did slot deps in leatherman 1.4.0 and created the slot.
