Attached is an ebuild for gkrellm_timers, a plugin for gkrellm(2). The plugin allows the user to define multiple countdown or stopwatch timers with optional alarm & popups. Surprisingly, this simple functionality is difficult to find on the Linux desktop !  This ebuild probably fits in x11-plugins.

I've added this as 'x11-plugins/gkrellm-timers-1.2' to match the existing gkrellm plugin naming scheme.
