Description Tan Wei Chong 2004-09-18 03:38:28 UTC
I just emerge --update --deep system and the next thing i know, mozilla firefox 0.8 kept crashing whenever i go to www.linuxtoday.com and mail.yahoo.com. I then upgrade my mozilla firefox to 0.9.3 but it still have the same behavior. However, later I discover that whenever Javascript is disabled, these site is ok without crashes. With mozilla-firefox 0.8 i did a gdb --pid=#pid-of-firefox and when it crashed, the backtrace shows that it is in libpthread.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge --update --deep system
2. emerge --update --deep mozilla-firefox
3. enable javascript in mozilla-firefox
4. go to www.linuxtoday.com

Actual Results:
mozilla-firefox just exit all of a sudden while the page was loading

Expected Results:
load the page smoothly.

Happend the same using freetype 2.5.9 ( wich I need with Gimp 2.2 ) and loading http://asterx.upc.es/
Comment 3 Joe Kappus 2005-05-22 22:01:14 UTC
This should be closed... this was a bug with freetype not being binary
compatible, but its long since been fixed.
Comment 4 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-25 17:50:20 UTC
Closing.
