Description Phil Stracchino (Unix Ronin) 2017-12-22 05:14:08 UTC
A constraint !>=dev-lang/erlang-20.0 was recently added to net-im/ejabberd-17.04-r1.ebuild (see https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/net-im/ejabberd?id=cd873d26a46260a171aedbeb73ac42e01d7c6d29) on the premise that ejabberd 17 does not work with erlang 20. Not only is this false (I have been running ejabberd 17 with erlang 20 for months), but the constraint causes ejabberd to fail, because it forces dev-lang/erlang to downgrade to 19.9, which then causes dev-erlang/fast_xml-1.1.22 (required by net-im/ejabberd-17) to fail to compile.

Remove the !>=dev-lang/erlang-20.0 constraint, let dev-lang/erlang update to 20.2, re-merge dev-erlang/*, and everything works again.
