Description ted.reed 2004-09-14 23:16:10 UTC
I am unable to use XVideo extensions in xorg-x11 6.7.0-r1. The bug seems to have been reported and fixed as per the URL above. The fix was put in CVS, and is probably in 6.8.0, but I can't use 6.8.0 with fglrx. There is a patch attached to the bug report, but I have absolutely no idea how to get that patch to play nice with the ebuild. Is it possible to get someone to add this?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use anything that uses xvideo.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 141 (XVideo)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 ()
Serial number of failed request: 21
Current serial number in output stream: 22

Expected Results:
Played a video.

Sorry, we're not planning on adding anything new to 6.7. To patch it in manually, you can use the ebuild utility. man 5 ebuild for more info, but here's a couple hints:
ebuild unpack
patch
ebuild qmerge
